The Ban de Bazeilles contained three villages: Boismont, Ville-au-Montois and Bazailles. Donated by Emperor Charlemagne to the cathedral of Metz . Although this territory belonged to the Messin country , Duke René de Bar had custody of it in 1424. The Ban de Bazeilles was part of the diocese of Trier and was chief town of a deanery of the Archbishop of Longuyon . Bazeilles fell victim to the German Atrocities in 1914 . Wikipedia
